Truck Update
- 11/10/06
The pump and drivelines
are now all installed on our new unit, and the body
is currently under construction. The rear
compartments are currently being finished, the
fabrication on the doors will begin within the next
couple of days. The chassis will be moving to
pre-wire within the next week or so to have the
lights, siren and all other electronic equipment
installed. The engine will be ready for the first
inspection by the fire department by the end of
November! Check back soon for additional updates
and photos.
Truck Update - 10/31/06 The new apparatus is now inside of the
shop at Metalfab. The pump and drivelines are
currently being installed and the unit will then move
on to plumbing and pre-wire within the next couple of
weeks. While this work is being carried out on the
chassis, the construction on the body has began as
well. The materials are now being cut to length and
welding on the body will begin within the next few
days. Check back soon for updated photos on the
progress of our new unit!
Truck Update - 10/31/06
The Millville Fire
Department is happy to announce that our chassis for our new
Engine has now arrived from the manufacturer and is now at Metalfab awaiting the kick off of construction on the body.
The new unit will have a 1050 GPM Hale fire pump powered by
a 330 Hp International power plant. The unit will carry 1000
G of water and will be equipped with a FoamPro 1600 foam
system controlled from a transverse pump panel. Delivery
should take place late this year or early 2007. Please check
often for regular updates on the progress of the project!
Brush Burning A burning permit is required for fires within the
village limits please contact the Chief for more
information.
First Responder Team
MFD has created a team
of highly trained people who respond to medical
emergencies within our call area. If you are
interested in learning advanced first aid and can
respond to medical emergencies contact the
department for more information. Thank you to 317
Truck (Nackawic EMS) for helping us to get it off of
the ground.
